Reason why test results shouldn't be locked immediately after posting

Post by ThunderChidori on Thu Jan 22, 2015 11:33 pm

http://www.vylonduelingacademy.com/t4051-foolist-s-test-results#57788 There are a few of incorrect judgments on Foolist's Nekroz deck on this test that I can see without looking at the list. I'll get to what I see wrong right off of the bat.
Nekroz cycle. The tester said it should be played as a 1 of. This is incorrect as you can tell by this topic. It should actually be used in 2's. Like the other ritual spells. In nekroz you want a ratio of 2:2:2 for your ritual spells mainly because all are equally as good for the deck. you don't want too many so you don't play 3:3:3. Also all are easily recycleable. cycle is good because it can summon your 1-of rituals such as armor and trishula. But is also good for summoning things such as valk and unicore.

Releaser. The tester said 2 should be played. Again this is incorrect. The reason why you should only play 1 releaser is that's really all you need. You can get 2 uses out of it's effect at most with 1. You're probably gonna win by the time you get to your 2nd one too, but that's not completely the point. Also cards like releaser are easy to get to since good nekroz builds play 3 mathematician (They also play tackle crusader and shaddoll dragon). That being said there really is no reason to play more than 1.

Book of Eclipse. This just might be that the tester doesn't know what it's for, so I'll explain it. A good player will do their best to avoid getting trishula'd even though good nekroz builds play only 1. The reason is because it's easily searchable. To stop themselves from getting trishula'd they will either not have cards on the field, hand, or graveyard. It's easier to keep cards out of your hand than any other place in yugioh. So they'll resort to setting their hand. Now comes in why eclipse is good. You can use it to disrupt a play and put a card into your opponent's hand. Then you can trishula them which is a -2 for your opponent and you're probably getting a + or 2 off of summoning trishula. In the end it's a pretty good gain even if you don't use the elipse to disrupt a play.

3 valk. Honestly it's up to preference on this one. I like to play 2 valk, but 3 is completely fine. It can stop you from getting otk'd, but also eliminates your field in the mirror if you need to. This will prevent you from getting trishula'd. This is a safe bet since no good nekroz player is going to go for an OTK. Also It's fin to tribute shrit out of your hand with valk.

This is literally the worst advice for a side deck I have ever seen from a tester for a side deck. Hands are a great side option for qliphs. This is because qliphs are the worst matchup for nekroz. And hands are great against qliphs. They clear monsters and pops skill drain, and pendulum scales. Mirror force is fine, but I don't like to side battle traps. The reason why mirror force is sided is because It's great in the mirror. It clears their field and gets rid of their limited resources and since nekroz run out of resources mid to late game  they don't like their fields being cleared. And now moving on to moving onto the complaint about sekka. Why would you think sekka is a bad side? Seriously? It's simple why he sides this. It's because nekroz hate backrow and are affected more than other decks when their plays are disrupted so sekka stops those plays. Also seka is great when they have a ton of backrow and you freeze them with it so you can summon armor and pop them off. By the time they get over sekka they're gonna be at a huge disadvantage. Also if your gonna play snatch steal. You shouldn't be siding it. It should be main decked.

Also you shouldn't give a 0 to someone if they didn't side vs your deck. People makes their sides for the meta. So if you're not playing the meta don't expect cards to be sided for your deck. Which is why I believe testers should be playing meta in the tests.

I hope someone actually reads this, gives foolist a retest or just fixes his scores.

i kinda agree with this besides the statement tht testers should use meta i think both testers and testes should be limited to using decks that are not top tire for the time (if needed a link could be provided to the top tire decks of the format)

It's all about feedback guys. Your testee should be able to comment on what they feel shouldn't have been deducted for points due to personal preference or lack of understanding from the tester about a certain deck. This is why I was a bit hesistant with luster because he doesn't go to ask the testee why he runs certain ratios of cards in decks.

(i.e. Consideration is a very big part of grading a test result.)

I actually asked people what to say about the deck however, these people being Jack + Cipher, and they gave me advice on what to say. I actually ran through what I had wrote with them and they said it was fine.

As of what I said (Which you made into a non-amusing signature) Nekroz aren't big on OCG at the moment and when they hit TCG it is going to be much the same.

I actually said that he could have sided a lot against me to lock me down further, but he didn't.

On the side fairy wind can help with qli's, he had no shaddoll + tellarknight help so Sim and Lim are actually good suggestions.

Alright, I am putting an end to this topic as of now. Better to end it before it gets even worse. As for all of the opinions, they will be taken into consideration, and we will discuss what will be done about it. For now, this topic is going to be locked as its more of a burn towards luster now than its original soul purpose of being a new suggestion. Like stated above, it will be taken into consideration.
